Tennis Racquet Grip Selection

Good maneuverability of the tennis racquets depends on the proper grip size. The sizes that are available on the market are the following:

L0           :  junior
L1, 4
1/8 :  junior or women with short fingers
L2, 4 1/4 : usually fits to most women with a “normal” palm (Distance between the tip of the middle finger and the base of the palm is 16-17 cm)
L3, 4 3/8 : usually fits to most men with a “normal” palm (Distance between the tip of the middle finger and the base of the palm is 17.5 -18.5 cm)
L4, 4 1/2 : usually fits to men with a big palm or long fingers (Distance between the tip of the middle finger and the base of the palm is 19-20 cm)

If you're between 2 grip sizes, go with the smaller size and add an overgrip to arrive at the ideal fit. A typical overgrip will increase a grip by 1/16 inch and add around 10gr to its total weight.

A good rule of thumb is that when you grip the handle (as seen in the photo) the distance between the fingers and the palm should be equal to the thickness of the index finger. e-tennis

The Tecnifibre TF-X1 range of racquets is back in a new version. While the design has changed slightly, with more emphasis on the fluorescent yellow than the white base, the promise remains the same as the first edition, offering a powerful and comfortable racquet for players of all levels. This 270 model is new to the range and will be ideal for beginners and teenagers.

Maximum power and comfort with the TF-X1 270 tennis racket. To boost power, all the racket frames have been designed with rigid ergonomics so that they stay firm on impact for maximum energy return. But the more rigid the frame, the more vibrations - which can be harmful for players' arms.

Tecnifibre's unique solution: X-Damp, the technology developed with TecniLab, to reduce vibrations and provide maximum comfort. How does it work? A steel part is inserted in an elastomer pocket in the handle which offsets the vibrations each time the ball is hit by absorbing them.

The result: arm-straining vibrations are reduced by 36%, with less muscle fatigue. This is particularly important on lightweight rackets where vibrations are strongest but which are often used by young players who are still growing. Frame ergonomics have been optimised with a rounded head and reinforced sections for more power and stability.

And the Isoflex technology, which applies variable stiffness right the way around the head, expands the sweet spot for more tolerance on off-centre shots.

The TF-X1 270 racket, for regular players and young competitors, strikes the best compromise between power, comfort and manoeuvrability. Lightweight (270 g) for an effortless swing, a 645 sq cm head size and 16x19 string pattern for power and spin.

An accessible racket to improve technique and performance.
